BASICally...

We all need 'em, we just sometimes forget we do: basics. Unless you're the minimalist type, sometimes it takes more of an effort to find the right ones. They come in many shapes, forms, materials, and (neutral) hues. There's the perfect t-shirt, the perfect pair of jeans, pea coat, flats, cozy sweater, et cetera, et cetera.

I've been on a basics "kick" lately, and went all out today. I bought a couple of basic gap t's (white and charcoal grey), a camel v-neck t with a titty pocket (yes I said titty), and a comfy cozy fishnet-inspired hooded sweater that will be a welcome addition to my BU-uniform wardrobe: leggings + oversized shirt or sweater + boots/flats + scarf + jacket/coat = easy morning routine. My one harsh restriction on this uniform is that my a$$ MUST be completely covered. No one likes to see an exposed tush besides creepers.

I recently invested in a pair of stretchy Paige jeans, which I love love love. The selling point was the fact that I don't have to fold the bottom of the legs awkwardly -- they were already midget-length jeans!!! (Plus they were circa 70% off original retail because I scooped them from Nordstrom Rack, gotta love them bargains!)

Hence, here's a collage of the bestest basics. Kain t-shirts are the yummiest, smoothest, softest pieces of clothing you will ever put on your body. They're like wearable butter. I threw in the LeSportsac backpack in anticipation of (gasp) SENIOR YEAR! It's weird but awesome at the same time. And the watch, well, it's basically important to know what time it is. And this La Mer one is cooler than a regular old one-banded watch.
