Starry Eyed

My inspiration for this post was sparked by Ellie Goulding's concert which I went to last Wednesday at Paradise Rock Club. Not only is "Starry Eyed" my favorite song of hers, but I literally got starry-eyed when I got to MEET the singer herself! Thank goodness I checked Craigslist two hours before the concert and luckily snagged someone's extra ticket; it was in the cosmos that I had to go to the concert. I also had the perfect star-print top to wear! I got it on sale from Urban Outfitters a couple weeks ago.

So, As my friend and I were about to leave, a rep from Interscope Records pulled us aside and offered us a meet-and-greet with Ellie! I usually have issues with being super star-struck (i.e. hyperventilating), and seeing/being near Ellie in the flesh was no exception. Right when she came out of her dressing room I was speechless, and even more so when she exclaimed that she has the same shirt! I replied in gibberish and turned red, but I could at least pull myself together for the picture!

Roped In

Ropes aren't just accessories for sailboats. I don't know about you, but this trend has got me roped in. The bright colors are fun and summery (check out Aurelie Bidermann and Dannijos' amazing collections), and the more neutral tones (see Phillip Lim's necklace below) are elegant and would add a funky-fresh accent to formal attire. Frieda & Nellie's blinged-out friendship bracelets are the perfect post-summer camp days upgrade.

Color War

As I eagerly anticipate my upcoming trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico for spring break, I tried to settle myself down with a little online browsing, but it only made me more antsy. Bright and bold colors are on the forecast for the tropical climate, which will be especially plentiful in the vibrant and sassy city of San Juan--from the deep blue ocean, to the friendly green palm trees, to the ombre-like sunsets. If I don't get sunburnt (which is likely), these colors would make a wonderful palette against my tan. These next four days need to go by as fast as possible; the cloudy sky and piercing wind are cramping my style and sucking the color out of my life. Here I come to sand, sun, and fun. Arriba!

College Cool

I took a stab at Polyvore-ing (a skill mastered by WhoWhatWear) the major items I've seen strutted around campus this year. I narrowed them down to a slouchy, semi-sheer t-shirt, leggings, a comfy sweater, vintage-inspired sunglasses, a sweet iPhone/Blackberry case, something to schlep books in, a patterned scarf, bold statement jewelry, wedges, and combat-style boots. My eye has become attuned to fashionable passers-by on my way to class since I am the newly designated photographer for HerCampus.com's BU street style blog. I apologize for the lack of creativity in my amateur attempt at a Polyvore, but here is my novice creation:
