CFDA 2011

Pictures have finally leaked! I've gathered some of my favorite looks at the CFDA awards. Miranda Kerr looked absolutely breath-taking, as did Chanel Iman. Here are the beauts:

Kirsten Dunst in Patrik Ervell
(I must say, she pulled off the look quite well;
the bun added a nice girlish touch)
Anais Mali in Sophie Theallett
Liya Kebede in Derek Lam

Jessica Alba in custom Diane von Furstenberg
(she even looks drop-dead gorgeous preggers)

Miranda Kerr in Michael Kors

Doutzen Kroes in J.Mendel

Chanel Iman in BCBG Max Azria

MK + Ashley Olsen, both in The Row
(I swear they can pull off anything--I personally love their bags)

Oh, and of course, Lady gaga looked absolutely ridiculous. But would you expect anything less?

Bite Me :-*

Are you diggin' the vampy theme? I was....and still am. Even though summer is supposed to be a time for bright shades, I can't seem to let go of fall/winter-weather-wearing dark hues with cool undertones. Although I always switch on and off from bare to nude to darker, sultry lips, I still find myself incessantly digging into the bottom of my cosmetic case to pull out a darker color. For me, if you like somethin', rock it--as long as you've got confidence, you can pull off anything. Well, maybe not anything...unless you're Gaga.

My favorite used to be LORAC's "Soul Sista," a nude satin beige cream lipstick. In March, one of my friends introduced me to MAC's "Diva," and I instantly fell in love with a more matte, reddish-burgundy hue. It looks great on olive skin tones (like my own) and even on paler skin.

Both in "Diva"

Megan Fox sported the vampy look during the summer (score?!)

Fine Dining

Everything really does taste better raw. When I was younger, I found myself stealthily sneaking into my grandmother's kitchen to snatch a few raw raviolis before they were put into the frying pan (yes, fried raviolis are very good, but they are obviously much better raw). There's something about the texture, and how much more flavorful the ingredients are, that makes uncooked dishes so savory for me. Some of my favorite dishes are: tuna and steak tartare (nom), beef carpaccio, raw raviolis (extra nom), and ceviche.

My own plate of a Grilled Ahi Tuna Steak (nice and rare on the inside)

Tuna Tartare

I recently went to Quintessence (http://www.raw-q.com/) in the East Village, and I must say, the food was pretty good--and all raw! During memorial day weekend, I went to beachhouse in East Hampton with family, and the steak tartare was phenomenal! I highly recommend it to anyone who decides to go.

Fashion Faves

Good morning, New York! I gathered some of my favorite latest pieces and decided to share them with you all. There isn't a common theme or style to all of the pieces, but just a few things I've come across that seem to make great fashion statements. My newest, favorite trend is a long, pleated maxi skirt with a cropped top (I'm still trying to decide if my 5'1-self can pull off the look). The nude colored 'See You Monday' piece definitely does the trick. Happy Monday! Xx, AlissaFashion Faves

Gurl Crushin'

I am proud to call my newest girl crush the Russian beauty Miroslava Mikheeva Duma. Even though her name is a mouthful, I am left speechless by both her beauty and her amazing style. She might even rule out the Olsens for me [[[[GASP]]]] ..... JUST KIDDING! I'll designate her the brunette equivalent. Apparently she works for Harper's Bazaar in Russia. I wonder how creepy she'd think I am for making this post...

She looks pretty petite (like me!). I love the way she uses a black wrap belt around jackets, dresses, vests--just about anything. She has a knack for adding modern touches to classic looks.

So preggers-chic!
