Here I Go, UNIQLO!

I just found out that I got an internship at UNIQLO in New York City this summer! I am way more than ecstatic. A huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. UNIQLO is a relatively young company based in Japan, with its US store in Soho. It is owned by the same company that owns Theory and Helmut Lang. It's known for it's wearable, comfortable, and classically stylish designs. UNIQLO is also known for its funky-fresh take on t-shirts and cottonwear. They have collaborative lines with Disney and Warner Bros., Cath Kidston, and most recently their Designers Invitation Project: Celebrating New York Designers--Charlotte Ronson, Vena Cava and Costello Tagliapietra. Their higher-end summer collection is a collaborative line with Jil Sander, called +J. I picked out some of my favorite t-shirts and looks from the Designers Invitation Project. I can't wait to start!!

Giddyup

I've narrowed down my favorite summer look to a button-down blouse with a a high-waisted skirt, pants, or pair of worn-in looking retro jorts (jean shorts, duh). I can pretend to be a country bumpkin amidst the hot, heavy, humid air and stench of the urban city. Fashion allows us to breach into other lifestyles (or at least look like it) without getting too many stink eyes. I'm on the hunt for the perfect pair of cowgirl-style booties. Fryes would be dandy, but they're a smidge too expensive for my college budget. This look makes me want to get back into the saddle and gallop through some farm land down yonder!

Plumeria

I miss Hawaii and the constant, subtle scent of Plumeria flower in the air. I can't wait for summer! This is a view of a just post-sunset in Maui a couple of summers ago from our balcony overlooking the water.

W for Wonderful

W Hotels is offering an amazing sale on this outrageously awesomely awesome A.V. Agate Drop Necklace. However, the link is a huge tease. This site features the 30% off promo code that doesn't seem to work, maybe my dream is shot :(

How perfect is it for summer? Worn with a minimalist and/or one-color outfit? It definitely needs nothing less than the spotlight.

Coachella Fomo

I've got a serious case of FOMO (Feeling Of Missing Out) right now about Coachella. Today, my girl Ellie Goulding, Axwell, Chromeo, Kanye, Duck Sauce, Jack Beats, Ratatat, Tinie Tempah, and Wiz Khalifa are performing. This is one of those moments when I really wish that teleportation existed. To satisfy my music craving, I feasted my eyes upon some great festival get-ups, courtesy of Harper's Bazaar. I will reiterate my love for the dress-and-sneaker combo.

Alexa Chung took a very unexpected fancy route!

Step into Spring

Even though it's currently sh!t-storming in Boston, I've been optimistically wearing my rose-colored glasses and focusing on bright, sunny, springtime foot candy. I have yet to find the perfect jelly sandals since there are so many variations and choices; maybe I should just bite the bullet and buy some already! I also love Ked-like sneakers for the summer and transitioning into summer, especially paired with cute sundresses!

Why pay more when you can Payless?

I was mainly looking for flats/sneakers whilst on my online shoe-shopping mission, but I can't help but advertise the expensively awesome-looking designer line Lela Rose for Payless Bolivar wedges ($49.99!!!). I love the turquoisy color with the tribal print wedge.

DIY:
For all you artsy-fartsy types, Urban Outfitters (online only) has a sneaker customization kit--spice up an old pair of kicks or personalize a fresh pair! Great outdoor activity.

Hello!

Do not fear; Hello Kitty is here, and I could not be more ecstatic about it! I make birthday gift shopping so easy for my friends! Each and every one of them should know by now that anything Hello Kitty-related is the easy way out (and quickest way to my heart). I am really jealous of the giant bow the model seems to effortlessly balance on her head--I definitely could have used it for my Halloween costume three years ago. I guess I'll just HAVE to recycle that idea!

P.S. friends: my birthday is coming up in about a month. Winks ;)
